THREE KEY COMPONENTS NEEDED AT PRACTICE
Hey BMX coach Greg Romero here want to talk to you about a couple of things that you could focus on while practicing at the track. Number one you want to come in with a purpose. Figure out what you’re training for? Are you training for that upcoming big event or are you training for the next state race? It doesn’t matter. Make sure that you have that next event in mind when you go to the track.
Number two you want to make sure that you have some kind of process mapped out. Are you going to be working on gait starts or are you going to be working on fitness? Make sure that you know what you’re doing. Stick to the plan and execute it.
Number three when it comes to track practice there’s all kinds of things going on, your friends are there, and you want to enjoy not only the process of training but you also want to enjoy the process of camaraderie and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying camaraderie and friends at the track, just make sure that you stay discipline when it’s time to do your training effort. Make sure you focus and get your work done (with your racing goals in mind)! Having fun is always important when you go to the track, so make sure you smile, laugh and keep it positive, and you’re going to get a lot out of your practice training session at the local track.
